Professional Responsibilities

I am actively involved in many online communities. I have built a strong Personal Learning Network (PLN) that has proven to be invaluable to me as I continue to learn, share and collaborate with others in the field of education. I am also a leader in my schools. I am involved in team planning and support the teachers as they infuse technology. I created and maintain a Teacher Resource Wikispace that teachers refer to as they plan instruction:

Memberships and Accomplishments
The Discovery Educator Network (DEN) is a global community of educators passionate about teaching with digital media, sharing resources, collaborating, and networking. With over 100,000 members providing professional development to over 600,000 educators worldwide, the DEN connects teachers both on-line and in-person. Discovery Educators have exclusive access to a wide range of resources, professional development activities, networking opportunities, exclusive Discovery Educator events and more.

Google Certified Teacher
The Google Teacher Academy is a FREE professional development experience designed to help K-12 educators get the most from innovative technologies. Each Academy is an intensive, one-day event where participants get hands-on experience with Google's free products and other technologies, learn about innovative instructional strategies, receive resources to share with colleagues, and immerse themselves in an innovative corporate environment. Upon completion, Academy participants become Google Certified Teachers who share what they learn with other K-12 educators in their local region.

Keystone Technology Integrator
A Keystone: Technology Integrator is a classroom teacher who fully utilizes the many benefits technology offers to improve instructional practices across his/her content areas. In doing this, the teacher does not focus on the technology itself; rather, s/he focuses on student learning and uses technology as a tool to support this end. A Keystone: Technology Integrator supports the Classroom for the Future Coach in guiding technical needs assessments and strategic recommendations, identification of appropriate instructional and administrative technologies, and the delivery of local hands-on relevant professional development in each high school. They are a part of the strategic team for a successful Classrooms for the Future project.

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE®) is the premier membership association for educators and education leaders engaged in improving teaching and learning by advancing the effective use of technology in PK-12 and teacher education. Home of NETS and ISTE's annual conference and exposition (formerly NECC), ISTE represents more than 100,000 professionals worldwide.

The Pennsylvania Association for Educational Communications and Technology (PAECT) is an organization dedicated to promoting the use of educational technology in learning environments. Our members work both in the education and private sectors.
